- Employees' jobs that are discontinued because of technological improvement or changes in production methods or processes including the method of shipping, receiving or handling of materials or products, the closing of a department or part of a department, are entitled to be reassigned without loss of pay. To determine an employee's suitability for a specific job through retraining, a maximum of sixty (60) working days shall be required.
- The Union must be notified of said changes at least ninety (90) days in advance.
- Immediately after notification the Company and the Union shall meet and determine which job(s) shall be suitable for reassignment.
- Training for other jobs within the Bargaining Unit must be done on a seniority basis, with the most senior employee having the first choice of jobs available.
- Employees retrained under this Article will be considered to have no posting and must exercise their seniority under Article 3.07 in order to attain a new job posting.
- Affected employees shall retain their job rate for ninety (90) working days after the transfer has taken place. Thereafter they shall receive the job rate for the position they have been assigned.
