ARTICLE 7
VACATIONS
7.01 - Vacation Entitlement
  1. All employees in the service of the Company for one (1) year or longer shall be granted vacations and vacation pay as follows:
      Length of           Vacation          Vacation
       Service           Entitlement          Pay
    
    More than 1year       Two weeks        4% of gross annual earnings
    
      After 3yrs          Three weeks      6% of gross annual earnings
    
      After 5yrs          Four weeks       8% of gross annual earnings
    
      After 15yrs         Five weeks      10% of gross annual earnings
    
  2. Vacation entitlement shall be calculated on a common anniversary date of January 1st. The entitlement of new employees shall be pro-rated in their first calendar year.
7.02 - Vacation Scheduling
  1. Vacations should be scheduled so as not to interfere with the efficient operation of the store and the Company and employees agree to cooperate in this regard. Employees are to state their selected period by April 1st, with written confirmation from the employer to be given no later than April 30th of each year.

  2. In the case of employees receiving more than two (2) weeks vacation, the additional week(s) are to be scheduled outside the period April 1st to September 30th, unless the Company agrees otherwise.

  3. Employees must take their vacation during the calendar year in which they become eligible for such. In special circumstances, employees may carry over up to two (2) weeks of vacation entitlement to the following year provided such holidays are taken by March 31st.
