ARTICLE III
UNION SECURITY
Section 1
All employees now members of the Union shall as a condition of employment remain members of the Union. All new employees, as a condition of employment, shall become and remain members of the Union upon the completion of sixty (60) worked days with the Company. At which time the employee shall complete and sign an application for membership in the Union and an authorization for the deduction of $100.00 (representing the amount of the Union’s Initiation Fee) shall be deducted from his/her pay. Such monies shall be forwarded to the `Union office. The application for Union membership and authorization for the deduction of initiation fees and dues shall be on forms supplied by the Union.

Section 2
  1. The Company shall deduct from every pay of each employee, covered by this Agreement, a sum of union dues, as advised by the union to the Company in writing. The Company will indicate on the employee’s T4 slip the amount of dues paid during the year.

  2. All union dues shall be remitted by the Company in alphabetical order to the Secretary of the Union by the 12th day of the month following the month of deduction, together with a typewritten list of the names of the employees from whom deductions were made.
Section 3
  1. Except for current practices, all work within the bargaining unit shall be performed only by those persons coming within the bargaining unit.

  2. Except for current practices, it is understood, however, that in training or emergency situations, supervisors or management personnel may occasionally perform such work for short periods while the employer seeks to make other arrangements in keeping with Section 3(a) of this Article.
