Any regular employees hired or permanently promoted on or after May 6, 1997, will be placed in the Regular employees classification. An employee in this classification who is successful on a posted vacancy, will be reclassified to the vacant position, but will retain the wage rate appropriate for those hired after May 6, 1997.
